Abstract

The role of the family in the educational process is a debated topic in the pedagogical and social literature due to its impact on the comprehensive development of students. Therefore, this research aimed to analyze the effectiveness of awareness workshops on the role of the family in the educational process. A quasi-experimental design with a mixed approach was used. A pretest and posttest were administered to an experimental and a control group. The reliability of the instruments was evaluated using Cronbach's alpha and McDonald's omega coefficient, indicating high internal consistency. The results showed significant improvements in the experimental group, where knowledge increased from 3.28 to 4.36 (t = -7.69, p < .001), perception from 2.96 to 4.04 (t = -7.11, p < .001), and practices from 3.24 to 4.16 (t = -6.06, p < .001). In contrast, the control group showed no statistically significant differences. It was concluded that the workshop-based pedagogical intervention was effective in strengthening the role of the family in education, highlighting the importance of implementing similar strategies in diverse educational contexts.
